Our Story
FAMILY-OWNED IN KENTUCKY SINCE 1994
Nestled in the rolling hills of Bourbon County, Kentucky, our family-owned company was started by Ronnie Mingua, a farmer who thought there was a better way to make jerky. He began with the choicest cuts of meat, and much like a country ham, used sodium to preserve his jerky, avoiding artificial preservatives. His journey, which started one long, cold and snowy winter, has grown to be one of the “Top 10 Jerky Companies in the Country.”
Today, Ronnie still prides himself on continuing to use his old-fashioned, all-natural recipe to offer his outstanding product to customers across the nation. His recipe and business are now a family tradition, passed down from generation-to-generation. Ronnie's son-in-law and daughter, Curtis and Holly Mackley, and grandchildren, Cannon and Aria Mackley, are proud to join the Mingua Beef Jerky business and carry on his unique talent.
